How to have your data, or your customers' data, removed from MapleChat.

This page explains how to have data deleted from MapleChat. It covers three different situations, because the right route depends on who you are.
If you messaged a business that uses MapleChat
You are looking for the business you spoke to, not for us.
MapleChat is the software that business uses to manage its conversations. Your data belongs to them, and they decide whether to delete it. Contact the business directly and ask them to remove your record. They can do so from within MapleChat immediately.
If you cannot reach them, write to us at privacy@maplechat.app with the phone number you messaged from and the name of the business. We will pass your request on to them and tell you that we have done so. We cannot delete their records for them without their instruction, except where the law requires us to act.
If you are a MapleChat customer
Deleting individual contacts. You can delete a contact from within the app at any time. It disappears from your workspace immediately, and the underlying record — together with its list memberships — is permanently erased 30 days later. The delay exists so that an accidental deletion can be undone; after it, the record is gone and cannot be recovered.
Conversation history is held separately from the contact record, so deleting a contact does not by itself remove the messages exchanged with them. Write to privacy@maplechat.app if you need a conversation erased as well.
Deleting your whole account. Write to privacy@maplechat.app from the email address on the account. We will:
- Confirm the request with the account Owner, to prevent a malicious deletion.
- Disconnect your WhatsApp Business Account from MapleChat. Your WhatsApp Business Account itself is not deleted — it is yours, held with Meta, and disconnecting simply ends our access to it.
- Delete your workspace data — contacts, conversations, media and automations — within 30 days.
- Retain only what the law requires us to keep, principally billing and tax records, for the statutory period. These are held in isolation and are not used for any other purpose.
Once deletion completes it cannot be reversed. If you need a copy of anything, ask us before you close the account.
If you are removing a Meta app connection
Removing MapleChat from your Meta Business Portfolio revokes our access to your WhatsApp Business Account and stops all message sending and receiving. It does not, on its own, delete the data already stored in your MapleChat workspace. To delete that as well, follow the account deletion route above.
How long it takes
We acknowledge every request within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. Where a request is complex or the law grants us longer, we will tell you why and give you a revised timeline.
